My Favorite Song

This is one of my favorite songs.

Lyrics:

1. Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow Thee. Destitute, despised, forsaken, Thou from hence my all shall be. Perish every fond ambition,
All I've sought or hoped or known. Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.

2. Let the world despise and leave me, They have left my Savior, too.
Human hearts and looks deceive me; Thou art not, like them, untrue.
O while Thou dost smile upon me, God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate and friends disown me, Show Thy face and all is bright
.
3. Man may trouble and distress me, 'Twill but drive me to Thy breast. Life with trials hard may press me; Heaven will bring me sweeter rest. Oh, 'tis not in grief to harm me
While Thy love is left to me;
Oh, 'twere not in joy to charm me, Were that joy unmixed with Thee.

4. Go, then, earthly fame and treasure, Come disaster, scorn and pain
In Thy service, pain is pleasure,
With Thy favor, loss is gain
I have called Thee Abba Father,
I have stayed my heart on Thee
Storms may howl, and clouds may gather; All must work for good to me.

5. Soul, then know thy full salvation Rise o'er sin and fear and care
Joy to find in every station, Something still to do or bear.
Think what Spirit dwells within thee, Think what Father's smiles are thine, Think that Jesus died to win thee, Child of heaven, canst thou repine.

6. Haste thee on from grace to glory, Armed by faith, and winged by prayer. Heaven's eternal days before thee, God's own hand shall guide us there. Soon shall close thy earthly mission, Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days, Hope shall change to glad fruition, Faith to sight, and prayer to praise.

Update On The House

We are getting closer and closer. The outside of the house is finished except for the decks which will be done much later.

The doors turned out really well.

The very next thing we will do is frame the interior walls, we already have a mark where the first wall will go.

Some more Wretched Music.

It is Not Death to Die

VERSE 1 It is not death to die
To leave this weary road
And join the saints who dwell on high
Who’ve found their home with God
It is not death to close
The eyes long dimmed by tears
And wake in joy before Your throne
Delivered from our fears

CHORUS
O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die

VERSE 2
It is not death to fling
Aside this earthly dust
And rise with strong and noble wing
To live among the just
It is not death to hear
The key unlock the door
That sets us free from mortal years
To praise You evermore

We're Home!

We had a great time at the beach but we are glad to be home.

Just a few pics

On our way home we stopped in historic Camden where the British took up occupancy during the Revolutionary war.

This is the Joseph Kershaw house that Lord Cornwallis stayed in. After the British left it was the only building they did not burn to the ground and no one knows why. However, years later it did burn, this reproduction was built on the original foundation. If you've ever see the Patriot, this is the house that the last battle was fought in front of, only the real battle took place a few miles up the road.
It was very cool to see.

Beach Bums

I've been too busy chilling in the ocean and the pool to take a lot of pictures, but I'll spend some more time doing that today.

It's so beautiful here, not too hot. It's the perfect time to come to the beach.

Here are a few pics.

Taking a nap after a long day on the beach.

Stopping on the way to the beach to stretch and have a snack.

I took a break yesterday to record a song. I thought about going down to the beach to record early in the morning, but I didn't want to lug all my stuff down there and possibly get it all sandy. So I just did it in our nice room.

Holy Flying Bats Batman!!

Arn't you glad these things live only in the Philippines?

They're called Giant Golden-Crowned Flying Foxes.

And these birds are extinct but pretty cool. They cold get up to the size of a leer jet, folk lore says that they would come down and snatch up a cow in one fell swoop.

This is an extinct sea scorpion that lived off the coast of Italy, they could get up to 8 feet.

This spider is not extinct but alive and well in Australia.

Giant Moth. Not as scary. :)

Not sure why I'm posting this. I found theses animals pretty interesting.

Sleep tight, don't let the Giant Golden-Crowed Flying Foxes bite ;P
