Good Times

We lost power for 72 hours this weekend. It was fun for about the first 24 hours but after that the fun was pretty much over and it was time to survive.
Being cooped up in the house took its toll on all of us. Mom said "Man, we haven't had this much snow in 16 years. Gosh since 2003."

I tried to stay outside and busy as much as possible to keep from going crazy. The thing I have missed the most is my green smoothies, I'm all messed up now. I think I am going eat nothing but green smoothies for at least a month now.

Well now that I have talked about the negative, now I will talk about the positive, and the best way to do that is with pictures.

After all the snow came down we had a total of almost 14in!

You didn't have to look far to find beauty.

Gabby and I built a 4x4x4 igloo, it was gonna be much bigger but after working on it all day we decided to shrink it down a bit.

This is when it first started snowing.

This is the next day.

Benjamin stayed pretty content even though he had to stay in his play-pen most of the time because we had a heater in the middle of the room.

Pebbles stayed nice and cozy curled up on mom and dad's bed.

Mom, looking over the horizon.

Christie enjoyed playing in the snow a little bit.

Ben-jo fell asleep in his high chair.

Carrying him to bed.

We spent a lot of time reading to pass the time.

This was how we stayed warm, heated up water, and melted snow.

The snow formed a wave off the roof of the shed.
It was pretty amazing.

All in all we had a great time. We learned how to work together better. We learned that you can melt a whole kettle full of snow and get enough water for one cup of hot chocolate. We learned that we desperately need four wheel drive (which we are soon getting two 4x4 vehicles). We learned how we can be more prepared next time.
