Birthday Stuff.

I had a great birthday the other day. Someone at work got me a cake and everyone gave me very nice birthday wishes. I went with my co-worker to make a delivery in Knoxville and he took me out to lunch. I have such great friends.

When I got home mom had crab legs for dinner which were awesome!

Gabby got some silly string (I don't care how old you are, silly string is just plain fun.) We had fun playing around.

Ok so I know this looks like dad is snorting the silly string, but he's actually pretending to shoot it out of his nose. ;)

Parenting tip No. 678 In the event of a random silly string war use baby as human shield. Haha actually I was aiming at her.

She didn't care much for it. :)

:)

Ben-Jo LOVED his chainsaw (he slept with it last night) :)

If you didn't know this model chainsaw also doubles as a gun.

I got a new tri-pod and it is REALLY nice. It also converts into a mono-pod.

Ben-Jo hacking up the bushes.

Also I got an external flash for my camera. I have shied away from flash photography for a long time. I'm a big fan of natural lighting. But even on a sunny day you are going to have harsh shadows over peoples faces which can be solved by using an external flash. Also you can't get great pictures indoors without a flash, and the on camera flash is pretty much useless for getting great pictures. I have just recently gotten used to using the manual setting on my camera, now I have a whole new world of things to learn pertaining to lighting.

Ben-Jo get a ukulele. He really liked it...

But it wasn't long before he wanted his chainsaw back.

These next pictures were taken with my new flash.
Mom got me a Heath bar DQ ice cream cake.

  1. Looks like a great day, indeed!

What wonderful presents you and Ben-jo got. He looked awfully pleased with his chainsaw. Now, he can help daddy and big brother!

  5. In my defense.... Blane jr. has recently become a photo shop bug, so it is difficult to "believe" what you see in a photo he has taken. Remember that in the photos that look like I am shielding myself with Sophia:)

  6. Candice,

Think the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks only substitute cheese whiz for silly string.

  7. Big Blane, man, you used the baby as a human shield. Fie. Fer shame. No amount of photo shop genius can make that look appear on Baby Girl's face (photo #6). HA!!!!!!

  9. I really enjoyed seeing the birthday pictures. Next best thing to being there. I am sure Ben-Jo will be playing music with you now that he has his own guitar.
Nice camera & tri-pod. Blane, Jr, it seems like only yesterday we were all at Memorial Mission Hospital waiting for your arrival. I guess I really am a senior citizen.
    Love you guys.

  10. Monopods... isn't that the name of the one legged critters in "The Dawn Treader"?

  11. Yes, as I said it doubles as a monopod. Those little dwarfs are great for steadying the camera!
