P-A-D 104/365 - New Computer - New Venture

Our family has our own family "business" cards with our numbers and email addresses and information about our church on them. I decided to make some of my own that I could give out to people I witness to or just to whoever. I got these to hand out to people who I don't want to have my number or address. They turned out pretty nice.

I'm writing this post on my new Mac Book Pro. I got one because I have decided to go to college. No not literally. I will be doing all of my undergraduate and graduate work from the comfort of my tiny room on my tiny desk. I plan to apply to Whitfield College to complete my undergrad work and then (Lord willing) I will scoot on down the figurative hall to Whitefield Theological Seminary to do my graduate work. I have done much research into different colleges and decided on Whitefield for these reasons.

1. It lines up most with what I believe. (Reformed, Christ-centered, Gospel Centered, ect...)

2. The Faculty. (Dr Kenneth Talbot - founder, president. Dr Randall Talbot - VP. Dr Jay Adams. Dr Joe Morecraft (recognize that name?) Are just a few of the professors who teach there. Dr R.J. Rushdoony and Fracis Schaeffer also taught there during their lifetime.
Some of the Alumni include-

3. Cost. With my belief in staying debt free and not wanting to spend an insane amount of money on an education Whitefield made the most sense. Although it is still pretty expensive relatively speaking, I consider it worth it. Even if the Lord sees fit to never make me an Elder or Professor or anything like that I will at least be extremely well equipped to lead my family :)

4 It is done 100% online and I can work at my own pace. This is great because right now I am essentially working a full time job while trying to build a cabin so flexibility will be needed. Also I'm looking at 4 years or so for my undergrad and then several more years for my graduate, I hope (Lord willing) to be married within the next 10 years (hopefully before 10 years). The flexibility afforded by distance learning will be very helpful during that time of my life as well.

I have always planned to do some sort of higher biblical education some day. I gave thought to it last year but I had a lot going on in my life at the time so I pushed the thought back for awhile. I have decided to go ahead and do it now while I have the money and try to get as much done as I can before I have the added responsibilities of a wife and children.

-------

We got up several rows of tongue and grove up the other day and it is looking AWESOME! I can't wait to see what it is going to look like when it's all done.

I'm excited about this Saturday. We have a bunch of people coming out to help us and I am looking forward to getting a lot of work done, and to having some good fellowship.
