One More Year...

It's here again, this time I'm turning 20 next Thursday. Never again a teenager. It's bittersweet but I'm excited.

Some years are for making leaps and bounds in your faith, and taking on the whole world--other years are for learning to be content, learning to trust and obey even when you don't "feel" close to God, learning that the world doesn't revolve around you. It's been one of those years for me and I'm not sure I've learned my lesson yet. My prayer for this coming year is that I will learn to be content where I am and make the most of the time that I have with my family, the time that I have being young, and the time that I have being single.

There have been many close calls this year in our church, friends, or extended family that have reminded me again how fragile life is, I imagine I've cheated death or serious damage a time or time while working on the house. I'm thankful that God has given me another year to live.

Soon as man is born, you know the sparks begin to fly
He gets wise in his own eyes and he's made to believe a lie
Who could deliver him from the death he's bound to die ?
Well, You've done it all and there's no more anyone can pretend to do
What can I do for You ?

You have given all there is to give
What can I give for You ?
You have given me life to live
How can I live for You ?

  1. You think you've cheated death ONLY a time or two on this house project? :)

I guess my imagination is always coming up with more ways things could go wrong!

  4. Happy Birthday Chief-Man!!!!! I would definitely affirm you in your desire to be content where you are, making the most of it. Just remember that God promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer. 29:11) I will be praying for God's blessing on you in the coming year as you wait on His plans to unfold.
